Laser Tattoo Removal:
Everything You Need to Know

Laser tattoo removal uses concentrated light to break down ink particles, allowing your body to naturally eliminate them. Modern picosecond lasers offer faster, more effective results.

How Does It Work?

The laser emits light pulses that target ink particles, shattering them into smaller pieces. Your immune system then flushes these particles away over time. Different wavelengths target different colors.

Number of Sessions

Most tattoos require 6-12 sessions spaced 20-30 days apart. Factors affecting this include: ink colors (black fades fastest), tattoo age, ink depth, location on body, and your skin type.

What to Expect

Sessions feel like rubber bands snapping against skin. Numbing cream can be applied. Redness and swelling are normal afterward. Blistering may occur. Follow aftercare instructions carefully.

Laser for Cover-ups

You don't always need complete removal. A few laser sessions can lighten a tattoo enough to allow for a better cover-up design with more flexibility.
